COMPANY HISTORY

J. Kelly Johnson, owner and president of Quality Water Services, has followed his grandfather Jack's vision his entire life. Since 1945, Quality Water Services has grown its business in Ponca City, OK, from offering residential water products and services to installing commercial water treatment systems, and today now also providing an expanded line of recreational water and outdoor lifestyle products.  

Over the years we have developed relationships with customers that continue long after the purchase.  We pride ourselves on customer satisfaction and staying in touch with the latest water treatment technology; residential, commercial or recreational.

COMPANY TIMELINE

1945 Softwater Service was founded by J. D.  “Jack” Johnson, Jr.
1946 Added Elgin Commercial units, selling to laundries.  
1947 Added Lindsay Units; becoming the oldest Lindsay - Ecowater dealer in the United States.
1949 Joined the Water Quality Association.
1975 Began selling pool chemicals, becoming the FIRST chemical dealer in Ponca City, OK.
1979 Opened Pool Services
1988 Renamed the company Quality Water Services, a division of Softwater Service, Inc.
1988 Installed bottled water plant and sold the product under the label “Just Squeezed” water. 
1990 Became an IBWA member.
1991 Renamed the company Quality Pools  & Spas, a division of Softwater Service, Inc.
1993 Introduced Cowboy Springs™ Bottled Water brand.
1993 Expanded our deionization plant and began selling DI equipment to a national photo lab.
1993 Purchased the present location at 115 East Highland, Ponca City, OK
1994 Opened a retail location in Stillwater, OK.
1998 Became a PMA member
2004 Opened a new 5,400 sq. ft. processing facility to meet increasing sales in our expanded bottled water markets.
2004 Introduced the Invisible Chamois™ Spot-Free Rinse System.
2004 Introduced the RV Total Water Treatment System™.
2005 J. Downing Johnson receives the Water Quality Association's highest honor, The Lifetime Member Award (3/31/05).
2006 Opened a retail location in Ark City, KS.
2006 J. Downing Johnson receives the LIFE TIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD from Ecowater™ Systems
